inspiration
Shannon Goff was my inspiration because she makes her work in a way to escape with humor. Like I said in my statement I use the reading of tarot as an escape from situations and to try to get some sort of guidance. I was inspired by her use of making art (with humor) as an sort of escape for maybe her personal problems in her life.
planning
When planning for my project i first started by sketching out my project and measuring the real object and then multiplying it by 5. However my original idea was to create a book but it didn't work how i wanted it too so i decided to go down a different path and make the tarot card. The book I had originally planned was a good idea and could have been done but it kept falling apart and I needed to come up with a new idea ( the fool card). After choosing my new project I went ahead and redid the sketches but now they were based off the card instead of the tarot card book.
experimentation
This was my first time working with card board in this type of project. I have never made something this large or this detailed with card board. I tried cutting my cardboard in different ways to get a feel of the box cutter and how it worked. I also played around with the card board paper to see how that would look glued on top of my project
Over all my experimentation was really focused on how to cut the cardboard the easiest and the safest way so that i wouldn't cut my fingers. I also practiced on how to draw birds for this project.

process
I started with two big rectangle pieces of cardboard, I then glued another piece (on both) on the back to give it enough strength to hold up. I added cardboard paper to the slabs to make it look even. I started with the details of the card then, making a branch and then the bird that were on the original card. I then worked on gluing the two together making it look like a stack of cards. I made strips of the cardboard paper to make the back of the card also look like the back of the original. The strips were un even because on the back of the original they dont look like even lines as well.
reflection
Overall I think my project was well done however it was very hard to do because of this being my first time working with cardboard for an art project. I think I could have done a better job making it look like the original thing but again over all for my first time ever working cardboard like this I think I did ok. This project was probably the one I struggled the most with because of this as well.
